Conservative on Target

OUTRAGE OF THE DAY: Do You Realize That The Government Is Still Paying Banks Not To Lend...? And it's doing that while screwing average Americans who have been responsible and lived within their means…The Federal Reserve is quietly continuing with one of the many outrageous bank-bailout programs it initiated during the financial crisis--the one in which it pays big banks interest on their "excess reserves."

[Clueless] Obama Talking About Jobs While Riding Made-in-Canada Bus [Using US Tax Payer Funds]: President Obama is barnstorming the heartland to boost US jobs in a taxpayer-financed luxury bus the government had custom built -- in Canada, The Post has learned. The $1.1 million vehicle is one of two that Quebec-based Prevost sold to the U.S. government
Paying for Government Now Takes a Record 224 Days: The 2011 Cost of Government Day fell on August 12 – last Friday – meaning Americans labored a full 224 days into the year to pay for local, state and federal government spending and regulations. Americans have lost 29 days of the of the calendar year thanks to Obama's overspending and regulatory zeal – this is the third straight year Cost of Government Day has fallen in August.  July 21 was the previous latest day ever. Federal Spending takes 103 days to pay for, state and local government adds another 44 days, and total federal regulations – the explosive impact of which is just beginning to be felt from the current administration's agenda – adds another 77 days.
From down the rabbit hole > President Obama wants the federal government to continue to have a major role in housing finance, perhaps by creating a new version of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Former Obama White House advisers say that's a bad idea. [More insanity from Obummer. You got a problem and can’t make it more statist. Just create another one. – JS]

Obama: I have it tougher than Abe Lincoln: Obama’s sensitivity to criticism is bound up with his progressive ideology, which sees political disputes as best resolved by experts, said Michael Franc, vice president for government studies at the Heritage Foundation. Obama believes “he has discovered the truth and if you disagree with him, it’s not only against the country, its unpatriotic and anti-Obama,” Franc suggested. [We are going to be seeing a lot more of the legendary Obummer pout! – JS]

Rick Perry Leads Republican Field and Is Fixin’ to Trounce Obama in 2012: Perry connects with Americans because he is an American. By that I mean he is salt-of-the-earth America. He wears boots, wears jeans, says grace before meals, and draws his own pistol to shoot coyotes if they bother his dogs during his morning jog. Seriously folks: Can you imagine watching Obama or Biden or any number liberal democrats trying to figure out how to load a pistol, much less draw one and shoot? On the other hand, Perry can shoot on the run. [Folks – this guy is going to drive the lib/progs bonkers. They’ll be frothing at the mouth and watching this threat to their masculinity, intelligence, and elitism. This is going to be really, really fun to watch! – JS]
IDIOCY Watch! Obama Agriculture Secretary: Food Stamps Create Jobs: Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack repeated the White House claim that food stamps and other forms of government welfare are stimulus programs in disguise, stating that when government gives out money, it is creating jobs.
"The fundamental source of all your errors, sophisms, and false reasonings, is a total ignorance of the natural rights of mankind. Were you once to become acquainted with these, you could never entertain a thought, that all men are not, by nature, entitled to a parity of privileges. You would be convinced, that natural liberty is a gift of the beneficent Creator, to the whole human race; and that civil liberty is founded in that; and cannot be wrested from any people, without the most manifest violation of justice. Civil liberty is only natural liberty, modified and secured by the sanctions of civil society. It is not a thing, in its own nature, precarious and dependent on human will and caprice; but it is conformable to the constitution of man, as well as necessary to the well-being of society." -- Alexander Hamilton
