Conservative on Target!

Violence Policy Center Continues to Misfire on Concealed Carry Holders: Who knows, maybe the VPC will own up and admit they were also wrong about all the fear and paranoia they’ve peddled in their faux report.  But then again, don’t hold your breath. [The rhetoric of the VPC is Obamanesque. These “birds of a feather” our still out to get our guns! – JS]

The Panhandler and the President:  do not recall another president in my lifetime whose negative drumbeat about large segments of the population has been so relentless. I do not recall another president (even those similarly frustrated by congressional gridlock and the stifling of their agendas) repeatedly targeting a specific economic class, complaining as loudly and using his bully pulpit so consistently for bashing those who disagree with him.
Families Don't Depend on the Minimum Wage > The data are clear: In most cases minimum-wage earnings are only a small fraction of family income. The long-term survey data are clear: Family dependence on minimum wages is the exception rather than the rule. In most cases, minimum-wage earnings of adult workers are a small fraction of family income. Hiking the minimum wage as a way to achieve "poverty-level" incomes is both misguided and inefficient.
Wingless, Bloodsucking and Parasitic: Meet the Flea Party! So far, the only major accomplishment of the "Occupy Wall Street" protesters is that they have finally put an end to their previous initiative, "Occupy Our Mothers' Basements." [Another classic by Ann Coulter! – JS]
DRONE Time! More details have emerged regarding the Iranian-backed terrorism plot to assassinate Saudi Arabia's U.S. ambassador. A $100,000 payment to the alleged plotters was traced to an elite Iranian military branch, the Qods Force.
House Takes Up ObamaCare Abortion Funding: Federal funding of health care plans that also cover abortion, including ObamaCare, would be banned under legislation the House will vote on this week, prompting one top Obama administration official to describe the action as a “war” on women. The Protect Life Act seeks to amend the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, prevent federal funding for abortion through government exchanges and community health centers, and ensure health care workers are not forced to perform abortions. [Yes. One step, if necessary, at a time! – JS]
Olive Garden: American flag display would disrupt dining experience! [Read the post and then let them know what you think at this contact form! It’s truly time to speak up about businesses who choose to dishonor the country that so ably serves them!– JS]

Update: Olive Garden apologizes, allows U.S. flag in restaurant. [ Guess the campaign worked but why did it have to happen in the first place? (Smile) – JS]

Destroy a liberal's argument by exposing the underlying rhetorical cheat by"Closing Down the Argument.":  In a debate based on fact, a conservative will always win. A sure-fire sign that a liberal is losing is when he tries to "close down the argument" by casting aspersions on your morality. For example, if you are debating immigration, he will accuse you of being a "racist"; if you're worried about radical Islam, you're "Islamophobic"; if you want your kids to be taught properly at school, you're an "elitist"; if you think marriage requires one man and one woman, you're "homophobic"; if you think there are rather obvious differences between men and women, you're a "sexist"; and so on. This technique says: "My opponent is so satanically evil that what little truth he has to utter is irredeemably tainted by his depravity. Whereas, I'm good and nice and caring, so I win." All you have to do to counter this technique is to point out to the liberal exactly what he's doing.
"...Virtue, morality, and religion. This is the armor, my friend, and this alone that renders us invincible. These are the tactics we should study. If we lose these, we are conquered, fallen indeed...so long as our manners and principles remain sound, there is no danger." -- Patrick Henry
