Conservative on Target!

NYTimes TRIPE! Is the Tea Party Over? [The NYT uses an attack on Perry and Cain to show how very little they understand about the Tea Party movement! – JS]

Political party paying Occupy Wall Street protesters? For full-time work, $350 works out to $8.75 an hour … in New York City.  Not exactly a living wage, is it?  It’s probably not quite as low as flipping burgers at Mickey D’s, but I’d guess that a Big Apple barista makes more to start, especially when counting tips.  Always good to see that those protecting the masses from exploitation are sticking to the declared principles of labor relations that they decry.  At least we know what the lowest-paid job on Wall Street is — and I’m guessing it’s not a union shop, either. [Wow! I wish the GOP would start paying us TeaPartiers! – JS]
Justice Scalia: “Learn to love the gridlock”: “… Unless Americans can appreciate that and learn to love the separation of powers, which means learning to love the gridlock which the Framers believed would be the main protector of minorities, [we lose] the main protection. If a bill is about to pass that really comes down hard on some minority [and] they think it’s terribly unfair, it doesn’t take much to throw a monkey wrench into this complex system. Americans should appreciate that; they should learn to love the gridlock. It’s there so the legislation that does get out is good legislation.” [Read this whole post. It is a great, short constitutional study by a SCOTUS leader! – JS]
IDIOCY WATCH: Behar to Cain: GOP Hasn’t Been ‘Black Friendly’ for Centuries: .. when the party itself was started it was derisively called the “Black Republicans” by Behar’s beloved Democrats because it was so friendly to America’s blacks. The party was founded with a pro-black agenda, its primary goal being the abolition all blacks from slavery and assuring them civil rights. In fact, for many decades after the Civil War and on into the 1900s most black Americans were Republicans, not Democrats. The very first blacks elected to Congress ran as Republicans. Blacks being Democrats is a relatively new development in our history. [Leave it to Behar! (Sorry, Beaver.) Read it all – JS]
