Every now and then something crawls up out of the muck to show us the perfidy of our politicians. This quote does that!
The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. government can't pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our government's reckless fiscal policies. ... Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that 'the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.
Sure looks like the truth to me.
Then I read who said it: Barack Hussein Obama, 20 March 2006, prior to voting against a debt ceiling increase in the Senate. He knew the truth 5 years ago but doesn’t now? Come on …
Trouble is it isn’t just him doing it. It’s almost all of them – all those politicians. They tell us one thing and do another for whatever self-serving motivations they have but couch these actions as being in our service. It seems that sometimes they even believe their distortions, their demagoguery.
It may be the demagoguery that burns me the most. “Throwing Grandma over the cliff”. “Starving our Veterans”. “Trashing our kids”. They’ll say these things knowing that they are fully lies. Here’s another BHO masterpiece:
“Republican leaders need to ask their constituents if they are willing to sacrifice the safety of their children for a tax break for a corporate jet owner.”
Most of all, I don’t like being taken for a fool! By anybody!
