The Beleaguered Christians: Campus Crusade Drops Christ: Many faithful Christians feel that Campus Crusade for Christ’s announcement to drop Christ from their name is one more confirmation that there is a wholesale departure from the bedrock foundation of their faith. A woman recently asked me, “Where will this end?” Certainly, she is not alone in feeling overwhelmed and confused at the changes taking place today. [Some were questioning whether ‘Campus” should still be in the name. But removing Christ …? Where is the courage of those who lead what once was an admirable group? I do cry for you, Cru! – JS]
This brings us back to Congressman West, who is a role model of clarity against the din of left-wing prevarications about saving mythical grannies from non-existent legislation. Democrats are accustomed to smearing Republicans when they’re out of the room; they’re not accustomed to Republicans defending themselves. Allen West fights back. Indeed, he represents scores of conservative legislators who refuse to have their views constantly lied about (especially in their absence) and who are not afraid to speak their minds about their opponents’ tactics. Among such individuals, Congressman West stands tall and he’s here to stay. And that is the significance of Congressman Allen West.
Eric Holder's Newest Witch Hunt: The Department of Justice is executing a "Witch Hunt" against banks. Through the DOJ's Civil Rights Division, Attorney General Eric Holder is forcing banks to "relax their mortgage underwriting standards and approve loans for minorities with poor credit as part of a new crackdown on alleged discrimination," according to a published report by Investor's Business Daily after reviewing court documents. [Déjà vu all over again! – JS]. … In reality, the federal government during the last two years has essentially seized the banking industry. What the government doesn't do directly, it controls by regulation, intimidation, and by sheer force and power. Obama got in the car business, the health care business, the energy business, and he's got the government holding most of the cards in banking, too. That's the change; the hope is that he gets fired by the voters in 2012.
